Being Different
What's good fam? Today I'm going to be talking about the whole sneaker youtube community. That shit is getting SO played out. So Sneakgeekz started it all a couple years back. He did reviews on Jordans. Right after him, a few others emerged such as Franalations, Stickie213, JumpmanBostic, etc. I would consider myself in the third wave of YouTube reviewers. The first was Sneakgeekz. Then the people who have been in it for a little while such as Fran and the people I just listed, and then there's me.
When I started doing reviews it had not gotten so blown up yet. When I had 100 subscribers I would support a lot of people, and comment on other people's vids, and they would do the same for me. Now everyone that comments on my videos has a channel of their own. I'm just about One year and 5 months into the YouTube review game and I would say I made my mark. It took me a while to get to where I'm at right now, and that's what people don't understand. Now there are hundreds of sneaker reviewers on YouTube. People always hit me up, asking me to shout them out. The expect supporters to come to them. YouTube is all about getting involved with other people too.
But with all these reviews doing the exact same thing, it's hard to stand out. I was just having a conversation with one of my homies and we were talking about where I have to go with my channel. The only way to be interesting now is the be different. If I keep uploading regular sneaker reviews of Jordan GR's people will eventually get tired of my stuff- if they aren't already. The only thing I do have going for me is that a get most of my shoes early, so that brings me views.
So I've been thinking a lot about being different. My latest upload, "What's On Joero's Feet Summer Edition" has been the first video of a new era. I am trying to upload great new videos. If I'm doing a regular generic sneaker review I am now going to do it as good as humanly possible. I have a few video reviews lined up that I have to upload. I don't have a set way of how my new reviews are going to be because I'm just experimenting right now. But I can promise you I will try my best to be different.
Sneaker reviewing has gotten too played out, everyone thinks they can do it. So I'm going to try my best to bring you the most original content as possible. Thanks for giving a fuck.
